The 2015 Great Plains Fly-in is to be held over Waitangi Weekend, 4th-8th February 2015 at Ashburton airport and is being organised by Ashburton Aviation Museum in conjunction with SAANZ. A packed program of events is planned, including seminars and a Gala Dinner.

The program starts Wednesday 4th Feb for early arrivals. Camping will be available as per 2013, bring a tent or a camper van, with facilities at the Speedway clubrooms. A shuttle will be available for anyone needing a ride to or from Ashburton for accommodation, supplies, etc. For those wanting a more comfortable bed, there is a range of motels and B&Bs available – check the Ashburton Information Centre website for details here

Full facilities will be running from Wednesday afternoon. The breakfast cafe will provide food for the hungry every morning, and Jim's Tuckshop will be operating throughout the event. Coffee, tea and light snacks are also available on site.

Aircraft judging will start on Friday 6th Feb and if necessary continue on Saturday 7th. Note that entries will be accepted anytime up to 10am on Saturday.

Following the days activities on Friday, Wings Awards presentations will begin around 1800hrs, followed immediately afterwards by the SAANZ AGM at 1830hrs. Then after the AGM there will be a barbeque dinner at 1900hrs. (bookings essential)

Saturday evening is the Gala dinner, with presentation of awards, and of course the Keynote Speaker, Alistair McLeod of Mount Cook Airlines (remember them?) Again, bookings are essential.

There will be a selection of seminars during the event, covering various aspects of flying and building aircraft.

A Partners' Program will be run on Friday and Saturday, with visits to various places of interest around the district - there will be a small charge to cover transport, and again, bookings are essential.
